We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Zak Schmoll as the new Media Coordinator for America’s Power Chair Football Confederation!
In this role, Zak will drive our digital presence across the region. He will manage our social media channels, keep the APFC website updated with the latest news and tournament results, and share compelling stories that highlight our athletes, teams, and events. His focus will be boosting public awareness, community engagement, and promoting the sport of powerchair football across the Americas.
Zak brings an incredible mix of hands-on power soccer experience and professional media skills to our leadership team. He started playing power soccer in 2010 with the Vermont Chargers, and over the years, he has served the team as interim head coach, assistant coach, team representative, captain, and social media manager.
Outside of the sport, Zak earned his PhD in Humanities in 2020. He regularly teaches literature and humanities at the university level and has published numerous academic and popular articles. He began his professional career as a sports writer for multiple local publications and online at Bleacher Report, where his articles accumulated over one million page views.
Moving forward, if you have team news, photos, or tournament updates to share, you can reach Zak directly at media@APFConfederation.org.
Please join us in giving Zak a huge congratulations as he steps into this new position! We are incredibly excited to see how he helps grow our sport online.
